Frequently Asked Questions

How long is my certification valid?
Your certification card will expire 2 years from the date of your successful competition.

How long will I have to complete the course?
Once you've logged in and payment is received you will have unlimited access to the presentation and testing phase for 30 calendar days.

When will I receive my certification card?
You may view and print your "wall certificate" as soon as you have successfully completed the written test. Your certification card, however, will be created by N.I.E.M.T. and sent to you. If you registered and paid for the course online, your certification card will be mailed to you using the mailing address you provided at registration. If you registered for the course through a higher-learning institution, your card will be delivered to you through that institution. You should receive your card within two weeks of your successful certification.

Do I have to complete any hands on skills?
There currently is no federal or state regulation that requires hands on return demonstration as a part of any BLS course. If it is your first time taking a CPR course we do recommend you seek out a healthcare professional to assist you in a demonstration. Studies indicate that distance learning is a practical substitute for BLS training and have further indicated that the retention of the material and post performance is not negatively affected.

Is my card valid everywhere?
To date, there is no regulation in the United States that dictates which CPR course is accepted or not. This course follows the most recent Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) committee guidelines as does the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council and American Safety and Health Institute.
